This new mixed media piece is entitled "Through the Prison". It is from my 2020 series "Finding Hope." The inspiration for this series came after our 30th anniversary trip to Venice, Italy in February of 2020... Yes, just before the pandemic hit!
This is my second piece featuring the famous "bridge of sighs." This well-known bridge was completed in the year 1603 to transport newly sentenced prisoners from the palace to the prison. Using images from that trip, I've created pieces with messages of hope for this trying, lonely time. None of us thought that after 9 months we would continue wearing masks, social distancing, and remain separated from people we love. We must continue to see the hope before us: we will get "through our prison!"
"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
